Luepke Named to Walter Payton Award Watch Record

FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State fullback Hunter Luepke was considered one of 35 standouts named to the Walter Payton Award preseason watch listing Wednesday, Aug. 3, by Stats Carry out. The award is introduced yearly to the nationwide offensive participant of the 12 months within the NCAA Soccer Championship Subdivision.
Luepke, a senior from Spencer, Wis., is a two-time first group FCS All-American and was final 12 months’s NCAA Championship Most Excellent Participant after dashing 14 instances for 82 yards and three touchdowns in NDSU’s 38-10 win over Montana State.
In 13 video games final season, Luepke rushed 87 instances for 543 yards and eight TDs whereas averaging 6.2 yards per carry. He additionally caught 9 passes for 165 yards and three TDs and was second on NDSU with 11 whole touchdowns.
Luepke is a two-time CoSIDA Educational All-District honoree majoring in finance.
Six former NDSU gamers have been finalists for the Walter Payton Award together with the 2019 winner, quarterback Trey Lance.
